What hardware does an Aspasia Cloud user need?

Simply a computing device as desired with an Internet connection and the ability to run a browser. Typically, for use within a branch the computing device will take the form of a traditional PC, Laptop, Apple Mac or a Netbook. For use out of the office any device with an Internet connection can be used such as a Laptop, Netbook, Smartphone (iPhone, Nexus One or whatever) or new devices such as Apple's iPad.

Within a branch there will also typically be a modest printer and access to the Internet via a router.  The current environment will usually result in the use of wireless technology for communication between all devices ensuring a total absence of any network cabling.  This is a very low cost computing investment especially compared with agency offices of old that were often bristling with expensive and largely underused computer equipment.  Although still commonplace a printer is largely redundant with Aspasia Cloud which is designed to do everything electronically in an attempt to increase efficiency and reduce costs.  However, many will still feel that agents will be handing out printed output to customers for some time yet.

Is it necessary to have any other software within a branch?

Not really, everything you need including word processing and email software is incorporated within Aspasia Cloud and you can use any browser you like (Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer are most commonly used and are all free). Indeed, if you use an Apple Mac there is no need for any anti-virus software either and the tedious business of almost daily operating system updates is largely a thing of the past!

But won't I still need a traditional email client like Microsoft Outlook/Exchange?

No, Aspasia Cloud is designed to make use of cloud computing facilities like Google Apps.  Indeed, Google's email system is built into Aspasia Cloud so that not only can you take advantage of arguably the best and safest email system that currently exists, your emails to customers and their replies go straight into the appropriate place within Aspasia Cloud without any need for cutting and pasting as with traditional residential property software. This is a real time saver.
